Review: Yacht Club

Updated: Jul 10, 2019

Yacht Club is a beautiful, New-England style resort situated near the backside of EPCOT. I absolutely love this resort, and can't wait to come back.

We checked-in online, but we arrived early to the hotel so I spoke with the front desk to let them know we had arrived. I also asked if there was any possibility to receive a room with a King-sized bed. We were on our "babymoon" and I needed my space!!

We were given a little pixie dust, and not only received a room with a King-sized bed right then and there, BUT we were upgraded to a water-view room!! Our room was at the very end of a loooooong hallway, but since it was on a corner, it was large and had many windows to let in loads of light! We were also at the end of the resort property so our views weren't of parking lots or other buildings. Just some grass and trees. Our patio (we were on the first floor) overlooked Crescent Lake.

The rooms here have recently been renovated. You will not find carpeted floors in the rooms. Disney has been slowly (but surely!) renovating their hotel rooms to make them easier to clean and maintain, and one of the main things they are doing is removing carpeting from the rooms and replacing them with a vinyl-like floor. The linens were crisp, the bed was amazingly comfortable, and everything seemed clean. The bathroom had a shower stall (no tub) so keep that in mind if you bring little ones along.

Our walk to the buses wasn't bad, and we didn't wait longer than 15 minutes for our bus to Magic Kingdom.

The best part, of course, was our quick walk to the rear entrance of EPCOT. We were able to admire the UK and Canada Pavilions without all the people. We were able to come back and take a nap (ok I took a nap) and rest up before going back to the parks.

You have an abundance of food options here. Yacht Club alone has 3 restaurants and a grab and go market. However, since Yacht Club is riiiight next to Beach Club (they actually connected), you have all the options of Beach Club too! Which includes the famous Beaches and Cream Soda Shop, where you can order the Kitchen Sink (which has a whole can of whipped cream; a whole can?!? yes a whole can!). I actually prefer the Beach Club Marketplace over the grab and go market at Yacht Club, since you can get a much more substantial breakfast there (hello Mickey waffles!).

You are also across the lake from Boardwalk which has even more restaurant and entertainment options.

The best part of this hotel (although we didn't use it) is the massive pool. Both Yacht Club and Beach Club guests have access to this 3 acre pool area complete with 230ft water-slide. We will definitely be taking advantage of this amenity the next time we come here!

Many joggers like to run around Crescent Lake in the morning but there is also a fitness center. We also didn't use this amenity, but walking through the parks at 33 weeks pregnant was enough exercise!!

Overall, we love this resort and can't wait to come back. It was great for families and couples, and offered something for everyone.

*UPDATE* We have since been back, and I have added pictures from this most recent stay. It was a garden view room with a king-sized bed on the 3rd floor. We were still able to see the lake from this room as well. As an added bonus, we could also see the EPCOT fireworks from this room! We also made sure to go to the pool this time. We loooove this pool. It's heated, and has a sand bottom in some sections. The pool is broken up into different parts. There is a kid's area that doesn't get deeper than 3 ft. This pool has a sandbottom, and a sand island. There is a small lazy river that also has a sand bottom. There are other pool areas, and there is also a huge slide, but we did not go down this slide.
