Review: Liberty Tree Tavern

We love, love, love Liberty Tree Tavern. This is our go-to table service restaurant whenever we visit Magic Kingdom. It gives us time to take a break from the elements and the hustle and bustle going on outside.

Liberty Tree Tavern is a colonial inspired restaurant. During lunch, their menu consists of "American" fare and you have a few appetizers and entrees to choose from, or you can get the "all you can eat" Patriot's platter. Prices range from $9-$14 for appetizers and $18-25 for entrees. For dinner, the only option is the "all you can eat" dinner. For guests ages 10 and over it's $38.00 plus tax per person, and for guests ages 3-9 it's $21.00 plus tax per person. These prices are obviously subject to change, but as of the date of this post, these are the prices.

When you arrive you check in with a cast member, and wait for your name to be called with a "hear ye, hear ye." You are then taken to your table. Each section of the restaurant is dedicated to a different American historical figure including: Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, John Paul Jones, Paul Revere, Betsy Ross, George Washington

For appetizers we used to order corn fritters, but they have since removed this from the menu. Let's hope they bring it back!! We recently tried the "Traditional Boston Brown Bread with House-made Apple-Butter Spread." It was tasty, but we prefer the corn fritters.

Since we eat here for lunch, I like to get something that is light and refreshing. I don't want to eat a huge lunch and get bogged down the rest of the day. I always (and I mean always) order the Colony salad. It has grilled chicken, Washington apples, sweet pecans, applewood-smoked cheddar, dried cranberries, and honey-shallot vinaigrette. My husband is a big fan of the bacon cheddar cheeseburger.

I can never eat enough food to justify ordering the Patriot's platter but it sounds delicious! The food includes:

Rolls

Tossed Mixed Greens with House-made Dressing

Roasted Turkey Breast

Pot Roast

Oven-roasted Pork

Mashed Potatoes

Seasonal Vegetables

Herb Stuffing

House-made Macaroni and Cheese

Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake

They do have some of the above options available as separate entrees if you don't want to order the entire Patriot's Platter.

They have several different dessert options, but we always hold out for one of the more popular "Disney" desserts around the park. A fan favorite is the Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake. We haven't tried this ourselves but it gets rave reviews.

A plus for some at Liberty Tree Tavern is that they serve several options of wine and beer. Note that in Magic Kingdom, alcohol is only served at table service restaurants, and you will only find beer and wine.

Overall it's a great spot for lunch, and maybe one day we will try it for dinner.

*Update: Since I wrote this post, I have tried the pot roast. I'm a huge fan of pot roast so I thought it was delicious. I could have been a little more tender, but overall I was satisfied.
