Review- Le Cellier Steakhouse

Updated: Jul 1, 2019

Le Cellier is a steakhouse found in the Canada Pavilion at EPCOT. Reservations are recommended, and they serve lunch and dinner.

This restaurant is known for their rotating poutine dishes, steaks, and the Canadian Beer Cheese soup.

We have dined here for dinner before, but recently we snagged a day-of reservation for lunch. We arrived at 12:30 for our 12:40 lunch slot. Normally table service restaurants have us wait to be seated until at least our reservation time, but since the restaurant opened at 12:30, we were seated prior to 12:40.

The restaurant is broken up into the different Canadian provinces and we were seated in the Saskatchewan area. Our server was very polite, and asked if we had ever dined there before. We had, so that saved him from having to give us the newbie schpeal. He was very knowledgeable about the beer options, and pointed my husband in the right direction when his beer type of choice was not available.

We ordered a poutine dish, a steak, and a kid's grilled chicken. Since my 10 month old only has 2 teeth, we asked if he could make some revisions to the meal, and he made it happen!

While we were waiting, the server brought out a bread plate with sourdough, multigrain, and pretzel bread. It was accompanied with sea salt butter which was amazing! The best option was the pretzel bread. The sourdough was sourdough. The multi-grain was eh.

My husband ordered the Steak Frite and it was cooked exactly how it was requested, and came with Chimichurri Butter, Smoked Paprika-Yucca Fries, and Saffron-Lime Aïoli. The poutine I ordered was the Beef Bourguignon with Gruyère, Beef Bourguignon Gravy, Garlic Aïoli, and Truffle. My son seemed to enjoy his chicken, green beans, and strawberries (but he's a baby so who knows!). The green beans were a bit too al dente for his two little teeth, but would be just fine for a kiddo with a full set of teeth.

We didn't order a dessert since we like to get our desserts "around the world," so that will have to wait for next time! I definitely had my eye on the Maple Creme Brulee.

The steaks are a but pricey for what they are, but you know that going in. They are all in the $50 range. Steak isn't the only thing on the menu though, and my poutine at $15 was large enough to be an entree (which for me it was!). For some places, the price for lunch is less than dinner, but it is the same price here so it's a toss up. I enjoyed having a nice dinner here over a lunch since the food is heavy, but I would do lunch again here!
